The Stadium for Cornwall Group is pleased to hear the granting of the Langarth planning application which also contained the additional parking which supports the stadium.
It also enhances the traffic strategy thus aiding the flow of traffic along the A390, something which so concerned the objectors.
The Stadium for Cornwall Group is an independent group of sports enthusiasts, frustrated at the lack of top flight sport played in Cornwall because of the lack of facilities available. We formed in 2008 to press for the development of a stadium and sports village.
The fact that Cornwall stands alone in the UK as not having a purpose built stadium we find staggering.

On the 16th March 2011 the Stadium for Cornwall Group arranged a rally where a petition containing over 11,000 signatures was handed over to Mr Alec Robertson, Leader of Cornwall Council by Chris Davison and Margaret Lyon.
Following this the Cabinet of the Cornwall Council met and approved further funding of up to £120,000 into the possibilty of having a stadium at Langarth,Threemilestone.
On the 11th March 2011 Chris Davison and Rod Lyon, together with Mr Dickie Evans were interviewed 'live' for Westcountry TV evening news.
In the latest move by the Stadium for Cornwall Group further petitions, bringing the total to 15,635, were handed by Chris Davison to Mr Mike Varney, at County Hall on Thursday 17th November 2011.
Mr Varney then Chaired the Planning Meeting which, after debate, approved 14 -4 the outline planning permission for a stadium to be built at Langarth, Threemilestone.
Rod Lyon's Speech To Cornwall Council
Thursday November 17th 2011
I am now 75 years of age, born and bred in Cornwall and fiercely proud of all of those things which make Cornwall the very special place it is – its language, its culture and its individual identity – all which help to give us that feeling of Cornish pride.
And talking of pride, we are all proud of our home-grown sporting talent, playing on the international stage, playing with a Cornish heart beating in their breast. But where do they perform and show off their Cornish talent – not here in Cornwall, because we have nowhere for them to show off their talent.
Many of you in this Chamber are proud Cornishmen and Cornishwomen, many of you have moved to Cornwall and made it your home, brought up your children here, working for and wanting the best for them, and I am sure that you all want to see your children and your childrens’ children up there with the rest and the best, and not drifting around aimlessly in some forgotten backwater.
So why is there a debate as to whether we should or should not have a stadium?

Statement on the housing application delay
Friday February 10th
Although we were disappointed to learn of the delay to the housing application, we have been reliably informed that all is being done to speed up the process and that instead of waiting for the next planning meeting it is likely that a special meeting will take place to deal with the housing earlier, hopefully within the next week or so.
We will keep you informed on this site. For the speculators out there, there is no big issue. It was purely an administrative error that caused the delay.
